LG Uplus, the South Korean mobile network provider owned by LG Corporation, has collaborated with Cheongju University to develop a virtual campus for students.
Students will be able to take classes and explore and seek advice for potential job opportunities within the metaverse campus, dubbed “Meta-Life.”
Meta-Life would enable the merging of real and virtual life, allowing students to contribute by, for example, enabling the games they developed to be played in the virtual space.
Residents, in addition to students, will be able to join the virtual campus, which is planned to open in February 2023.
LG has made significant contributions to the Web3 world, launching a number of related initiatives and projects. To increase its position in the sphere of NFTs and cryptocurrencies, LG submitted a trademark application for “LG ART LAB” in July, a new platform that allows smart TV owners to purchase, sell, and display NFTs straight from their home screen that was later launched in September.
Also, LG recently displayed its most modern and revolutionary TVs at CEDIA Expo 2022, some of which feature NFT art, and last month partnered with Web3 platform Fr0ntierX to deliver interactive NFT integrations on LG webOS Smart Signage.
