After submitting a trademark application to strengthen its presence in the field of NFTs and cryptocurrencies, LG has officially announced the release of its NFT platform, LG Art Lab.
By using the platform, US owners of webOS 5.0 and later TVs are able to display, buy and sell NFTs directly from the Home Screen.
The LG Art Lab platform runs on the Hedera network, one of the most popular and sustainable public ledgers in the decentralized economy today.
With the help of QR codes integrated into the screen, buyers and sellers will easily complete NFT-related transactions via Wallypto, the company’s cryptocurrency wallet.
Upon purchasing, people will be able to view transaction history in the LG Art Lab Marketplace and find the NFT in their My Collection section. Additionally, NFT holders can transform their living rooms into art galleries– especially when using LG’s OLED displays– by displaying their digital artworks and bringing them to life.
First on LG Art Lab NFT marketplace is Barry X Ball, an artist known for reinterpreting classical and modernist sculptures using 3D scanning and printing.
Barry X Ball is now entering the world of NFTs with a unique ‘Metal’ series of digital works. This first series of NFT masterpieces, which perfectly capture all the textures, details, and materials – such as precious metals and gemstones – used in the artist’s remarkable sculptures, is expected to be released in the next few weeks via LG Art Lab Drops, with the “Stone” series.
