The LG Art Lab NFT platform will soon release a new series of NFTs.
This series includes four animated NFTs made by Brooklyn-based sculptor Barry X Ball.
With a duration of 39 seconds, each NFT will depict four metal variations — black steel, gold, copper, and silver — while immersing the viewer in hyper-Baroque, complex forms.
The artist’s in-process sculptures of Pope John Paul II are the inspiration for these works, whose complexity and hyper-detail will serve to highlight LG’s OLED TV’s accuracy in presenting images, colors, and details.
An on-site presentation of the NFTs will take place on February 16 during the VIP preview day at Frieze Los Angeles 2023.
LG unveiled its LG Art Lab platform last September, riding the NFT trend and seeking to enable users to exhibit NFTs on their TVs and turn their living rooms into galleries.
LG has continued to be involved in a number of Web3-related initiatives since the release of its NFT platform; in October, it collaborated with Fr0ntierX, a Web3 service provider, to bring interactive NFT integrations on LG webOS Smart Signage, and last month, it added Hedera-based Blade Wallet to its NFT platform and focused on royalties.
