To celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl LVII, the National Football League (NFL) unveiled its upcoming entry into the Roblox metaverse with a virtual concert.
The concert will feature American rapper Saweetie performing her hit singles – including “Tap-In” — and will be held on Rhythm City, a music-themed virtual space recently launched by Warner Music Group.
There will also be a variety of digital collectibles available for purchase through Roblox’s marketplace to go along with the concert.
Starting next Friday, February 10 at 7 pm ET, the virtual concert will repeat every hour until Sunday, February 12.
The NFL will also launch a virtual world dubbed “Super NFL Tycoon” on Roblox in collaboration with Intuit, the leading American business software provider.
The experience — starting on Saturday, February 4 — is designed to give visitors a glimpse of what it would be like to own an NFL team while practicing financial and business skills.
The virtual game simulates a real-world business environment; visitors will be able to draft their own team, build an “Intuit Stadium,” and manage payroll, taxes, and cash flow.
A portal will connect the two experiences — virtual concert and Super NFL Tycoon — allowing guests to move between them simply and swiftly.
This NFL Web3 venture follows one launched last summer in collaboration with Dapper Labs to launch NFL ALL DAY, an exclusive digital video highlight NFT platform.
