Gucci is gearing up for another Web3 venture, this time in collaboration with Yuga Labs, the firm behind popular NFT and metaverse initiatives like BAYC and Otherside.
Gucci announced the partnership in a Tweet today, stating its aim to continue exploring the metaverse and “blurring the boundaries between the physical and digital.”
Details regarding the collaboration have yet to be revealed, and Gucci encourages fans and the Web3 community to stay tuned for updates.
The collaboration was also announced on the official Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse project Twitter account, implying that the fashion brand may soon become a part of its story-driven adventure game.
The news of the partnership follows the recent completion of the Second Trip for Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse, which drew over 7,200 players.
Gucci has already been a part of several Web3-related initiatives, the first of which was the debut of the brand’s first NFT collection, “SuperGucci,” in collaboration with Superplastic, in January 2022.
More recently, Gucci has begun accepting cryptocurrencies at its boutique stores, including ApeCoin, and in October, the company announced the debut of the “Gucci Vault Land” metaverse experience on The Sandbox.
