Coca-Cola is making further strides into the realm of Web3 with the announcement of its latest non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
Dubbed “Masterpiece,” this collection pays homage to a fusion of artistic styles, blending iconic classics like Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” and Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” with contemporary creations by notable artists such as Aket and Vikram Kushwah.
Comprising a total of 8 unique artworks, these pieces were originally showcased in Coca-Cola’s Masterpiece Global campaign, an innovative initiative aimed at redefining the brand’s global presence through digital art. Now, these works are being repurposed as digital collectibles in the form of NFTs.
Each NFT artwork showcases the iconic Coca-Cola glass bottle as its centerpiece, with the glass container featuring the selected artwork, all set against an artful backdrop and frame.
These distinctive pieces are minted on the Base blockchain, a layer 2 blockchain on the Ethereum network that emerged from Coinbase’s incubation.
The Coca-Cola Masterpiece NFT collection has already been unveiled and is available for minting as part of the Onchain Summer event. This expansive multi-week celebration encompasses a diverse array of onchain art, gaming, music, and more, all fueled by the capabilities of the Base blockchain.
Coca-Cola is no stranger to the world of Web3. Just last July, the Serbian division of Coca-Cola joined forces with SolSea to introduce an NFT initiative in conjunction with the EXIT Festival.
In July of the previous year, Coca-Cola marked International Friendship Day with a series of NFTs, and during the same month, the company launched the “Coca-Cola Pride NFT Collection,” a dedicated tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community.
