In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Bruce Lee’s passing on July 20, Bruce Lee Estate has joined forces with metaverse gaming platform Byte City and NFT marketplace Magic Eden.
The joint initiative involves the creation of NFT playable characters that will be integrated into the Byte City metaverse. These NFT avatars, part of the “Bruce Lee 50th Tribute Collection,” will be released in a limited quantity of 10,000. Each animated NFT features a Lego-style martial arts character paying homage to the legendary Bruce Lee.
The collection will be available in two editions: the Polygon edition and the Ethereum edition. The minting dates for these editions are July 27, 9 AM PST, and July 28, 9 AM PST, respectively. As of the latest update, the 10,000 Polygon editions have already sold out within just 10 minutes.
Acquiring these NFTs will grant holders various perks, including access to exclusive Bruce Lee games in Byte City, future limited edition Bruce Lee emote drops, and participation in special Bruce Lee events.
This is not the first instance of Bruce Lee Estate partnering with Web3-related projects. Back in January 2022, they collaborated with the Ethernity NFT marketplace to release an exclusive NFT collection honoring Bruce Lee’s life and legacy as a martial arts master, philosopher, and global action film icon.
