Animoca Brands has partnered with Rarible to introduce a dedicated marketplace for its Mocaverse non-fungible tokens (NFTs), offering holders the opportunity to trade their digital assets.
The Mocaverse project was unveiled by Animoca Brands in December 2022, with the ambitious goal of bringing together the company’s various portfolio projects, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partners. This collection of NFTs consists of 8,888 unique profile picture (PFP) NFTs that come with special utilities for the holders.
The project gained significant traction, with the Mocaverse NFT mint generating a staggering volume of over $5.6 million within just 48 hours.
Now, thanks to the collaboration with Rarible, owners of these Mocaverse NFTs have access to the newly launched Mocaverse Marketplace. Powered by the Rarible Protocol, the marketplace aims to provide a secure environment for trading the Mocaverse NFTs, eliminating the risk of purchasing counterfeit or copied tokens from unauthorized sources. Additionally, the platform offers the convenience of zero platform fees, making it an attractive option for NFT enthusiasts.
The Mocaverse Marketplace also introduces a unique point-based system called Moca XP. This system rewards community members based on their level of engagement with the project. Activities such as staking, participating in activations, engaging in social channels, and contributing to the Moca DAO will earn users points. Accumulating a higher number of points increases the likelihood of receiving rewards and benefits, incentivizing active participation within the Mocaverse ecosystem.
This partnership marks another significant step for Animoca Brands in its exploration of the Web3 space. The company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the emerging field of blockchain and NFTs. In March, Animoca Brands collaborated with Hex Trust to launch Gryfyn, a multi-chain wallet specifically designed for NFT enthusiasts.
The company has also been actively investing in the metaverse industry, including a January investment in Psychic VR Lab, a leading creator of virtual reality content. Furthermore, in December 2022, Animoca Brands acquired a majority stake in Pixelynx, a music metaverse platform, with the aim of revolutionizing the connection between fans and artists.
