Global tech company ZF Friedrichshafen AG, also known as ZF Group, has announced the debut of its “Employer Branding Metaverse.”
This virtual space, hosted on the Rooom metaverse platform, serves as a hub for talent acquisition. It allows potential candidates to familiarize themselves with the company and its culture, and explore available career opportunities.
The metaverse showcases the various locations where ZF Group operates — including China, India, Eastern and Western Europe, and North America. Within the main hall of the virtual space, each location booth showcases a portal that transports users to a location-specific experience.
In these virtual spaces, candidates can schedule one-on-one meetings with local recruiters using traditional meeting tools or the metaverse’s virtual interview rooms.
The platform also aims to boost employee engagement by enabling participation in virtual events for real-time interaction and collaboration.
Users can interact with other avatars through an integrated chat function. At the same time, a gamified feature encourages user engagement by awarding coins for interacting with content, learning about the company’s milestones and innovations, and completing quests such as finding blue coins.
Martin Maas, Head of Employer Branding at ZF, emphasized the importance of embracing new opportunities for employees and attracting new talent, especially in future-oriented technology sectors. “The new Metaverse, which we have developed largely with internal resources, supports us in both tasks,” he stated.
This initiative follows a trend of companies leveraging the metaverse to enhance brand discovery and employee engagement. Coty launched “Coty Campus” in April 2023, providing a virtual space for global employees to collaborate and receive training. Similarly, in March 2023, Clinique introduced “Clinique Lab,” offering customers insights into the brand’s heritage and products.
