Clinique has announced the launch of “Clinique Lab,” a metaverse experience that allows customers to learn about the brand’s history and iconic products.
The Clinique Lab experience, which is accessible through Clinique’s main website, begins with the creation of the avatar, for which visitors can pick a name and colors.
The virtual space has many areas — Museum, Source, Connect, Shop, Formula, Radiance, and Origin — where customers can learn about the brand’s history and the formulas behind its products, and engage with consultants.
For example, the Museum is where visitors can learn where the inspiration for Clinique’s name originated, and the Museum of Firsts is where they can learn how Clinique was the first dermatologist-developed brand, as well as some of the first products it thought up and led, such as 100% fragrance-free skincare products.
Visitors to the Formula area can discover more about the formula behind Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Hydrator — one of the company’s best-selling moisturizers.
The Source area allows visitors to learn more about the components in Clinique’s products, such as Aloe, vitamin C, and salicylic acid.
Clinique Lab also offers a Shop area where customers can virtually explore products before adding them to their shopping cart for purchase. The experience also includes finding and collecting specific digital items in order to get a product purchase offer.
This is not the first time Clinique has brought its products to the virtual world; in 2022, the company teamed with Daz 3D to create its first beauty NFT campaign, which featured digital makeup looks that consumers could collect and use to style their avatars.
