Ubisoft, the renowned video game publisher, has joined forces with Web3 company Integral Reality Labs (IRL) to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring characters from the popular Assassin’s Creed video game series.
The project, known as “IRL Smart Collectibles,” introduces a one-of-a-kind phygital collection that includes unique collectibles available in both digital and physical formats.
The digital component, referred to as “Digital Soul,” provides holders with the ability to customize their Polygon-based NFTs using IRL’s Soul Customizer. This customization includes selecting distinct outfits, weapons, poses, and other unique features.
Once the customization process is complete, holders will also receive a physical component in the form of a 3D-printed cube. This cube is authenticated using an NFC tag chip and Authentic Vision technology, ensuring its legitimacy. The NFC tag chip is linked to the same address as the digital collectible, enabling authentication and interactivity through the IRL companion app.
The IRL companion app offers holders the opportunity to engage with their characters in various ways, providing a rewarding collector experience. Users can interact with their NFTs, complete achievements, level up, and follow recipes to enhance the uniqueness of their NFTs.
The specific date and time for the release of the NFT collection have not been disclosed yet. However, IRL has indicated that more information will be available soon on its website and encourages the community to stay updated through its social channels.
This collaboration marks Ubisoft’s continued foray into the Web3 space. In December 2021, the company introduced Ubisoft Quartz, a platform that allows players to acquire Digits, the first NFTs that can be used in an AAA game.
