Web3 move-to-earn app Stepn Go has teamed up again with sportswear giant Adidas to release a new non-fungible token (NFT) sneaker collection.
This Genesis sneaker collection features 1,000 NFTs minted on the Solana blockchain. The collection will include four designs inspired by Adidas’ most iconic running shoes, along with special editions from the “Alts by Adidas” line.
The NFT sneakers will be available through a raffle mint starting on September 25 and running through September 30. Each raffle ticket will be priced at 10,000 GMT, roughly equivalent to $1,470. If participants don’t win, their ticket purchase will be refunded.
This drop is the second collaboration between Stepn and Adidas, following their first NFT sneaker release in April, which also featured 1,000 NFT sneakers.
Stepn Go’s partnership with Adidas comes after a recent rebranding of the project. Originally known as Stepn, it was renamed Stepn Go and introduced a new app with new features, including a gaming system, social elements, and a new token, GGT.
The new app allows users to lend their NFT sneakers to friends and family, and it also offers customizable avatars and outfits.
The rebranding initially faced criticism from some in the community who felt the company was abandoning its original concept. Some users even accused the company of “killing” the original app. Despite the backlash, Stepn Go has maintained its momentum and continued to grow.
Stepn was first launched by FSL in 2021 and quickly became popular within the Web3 space. The app allows users to earn tokens by engaging in physical activities like walking and running while activating their NFT sneakers.
Over the years, Stepn has partnered with several well-known brands, boosting its visibility. Early partnerships included a collaboration with Asics to release brand-themed NFT sneakers. Other notable collaborations include drops with Steve Aoki and NFT game developer Illuvium.
