Square Enix, a Japanese role-playing video game developer, has formally declared its debut in the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
During Web3 Conclave, an event held within the India Game Developers Conference (IGDC), the company announced its NFT project, dubbed ‘SYMBIOGENESIS’.
‘SYMBIOGENESIS’ is a digital realm full of characters that may be collected as NFTs. They may then use them as a social media profile picture as well as a character within the digital world.
The ‘SYMBIOGENESIS’ NFT sale is scheduled to begin in spring 2023, with updates provided by the company via the official Twitter account.
Although the project has not been extensively disclosed until now, the news is the outcome of a desire expressed by Square Enix in a report in May, with aspirations to increase its efforts in its blockchain and NFT gaming division. An intention that was also demonstrated by investments in key areas and businesses, such as Animoca Brands and The Sandbox.
