ASICS’ Web3 journey continues. This time, the Japanese multinational corporation has chosen to work with Solana and the STEPN app.
As a result of the collaboration, ASICS will provide a loyalty ASICS Badge NFT to purchasers of the new ASICS x Solana UI Collection, which features custom-made GT-2000 11 running shoes in light and dark versions, as well as a limited edition Solana gradient on the heel and tongue.
Holders of the Dark Mode and Light Mode ASICS NFT Badges will also have a chance to receive an airdrop of a limited number of ASICS x STEPN GT-2000™ NFTs. A total of 1,001 NFTs will be dropped, including 850 common, 150 uncommon, and one rare.
In this way, the shoes can also be used with STEPN, a move-to-earn application based on the Solana blockchain that rewards runners with crypto tokens.
Shoes cost $200 and are available for pre-order on the dedicated website until Nov. 9 at 6:59 AM UTC.
The initiative follows one in May in which ASICS partnered with the STEPN app to release NFT sneakers that allow users to collect tokens and NFT rewards through the app. By carrying out these initiatives and future ones, ASICS can achieve its mission to “inspire the global Web3 community to create healthy habits.”
