Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), a pioneer in international cruise travel with a history of breaking boundaries, today announced the launch of the cruise industry’s first collection of NFTs.
On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 9 a.m., NCL will auction and sell a collection of six NFTs to celebrate the inauguration of the Company’s cutting-edge Norwegian Prima Class. NCL‘s online NFT marketplace is set to start soon.
Manuel Di Rita, popularly known as “Peeta,” the Italian artist who designed the hull art on the record-breaking Norwegian Prima and her sister ship Norwegian Viva, created the NFT art pieces.
The first of the six artworks will be auctioned at a starting price of USD$2,500, with the remaining NFTs being sold at a starting price of USD$250. The auction winner will also get a balcony cabin on one of Norwegian Prima’s inaugural voyages to the United States, which will depart from NCL’s spectacular new PortMiami terminal in Miami, the Cruise Capital of the World.
T100% of the proceeds from the NFT auction and sales will go to Teach For America. Teach For America develops and supports a network of leaders who fight to improve children’s lives in classrooms, schools, and every industry and area that influences how schools operate.
