Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has announced the official launch of its NFT marketplace, Kraken NFT, following the successful completion of its beta test phase.
With this launch, individuals can now easily engage in buying, selling, and trading NFTs on the platform.
The marketplace has expanded its offerings significantly, featuring over 250 collections, a notable increase from the previous count of 70. Included among the collections are popular ones like Reddit Collectible Avatars, Doodles, Boss Beauties, and several popular blue-chip NFT collections.
Moreover, Kraken NFT has integrated the Polygon blockchain into its platform, expanding its existing support for Ethereum and Solana blockchains.
In terms of payment options, Kraken NFT provides a wide range of choices, accepting over 200 different cryptocurrencies and cash alternatives.
To commemorate the launch, Kraken has partnered with the Williams Racing Formula 1 team. Holders of NFTs will have the unique opportunity to have their favorite NFT featured on the rear wing of an F1 car during a race later this year.
After announcing their plans for an NFT marketplace in December 2021, Kraken initiated a waiting list for interested users in May 2022. The beta launch took place in December 2022, shortly after Jonathan Miller, Kraken’s former Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm for NFTs and their potential, irrespective of market downturns and declines in NFT trading volumes.
