UNDER Lea’s TRUST (ULT), a non-profit association headquartered in Berlin and Nairobi with a focus on education, has partnered with UBUNATION, a digital collectible platform centered around humanity and community values, to introduce a non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
As per a press release disclosed to Cryptoflies, the collection named “ULT Dream Careers Lions” has a mission to raise funds for the construction of a primary school in Nairobi, thereby extending educational access to more children.
The collection includes 10,000 Polygon-based NFTs, each showcasing a unique cartoonish lion (the main animal of Kenya) donning various career-themed outfits — from painters to flight pilots.
Aside from contributing to a charitable cause, NFT holders will gain access to exclusive VIP experiences, meet-and-greets, as well as exclusive merchandise. As part of the initiative, ULT will also recognize supporters, highlighting a different supporter each month with exclusive giveaways.
The NFTs are already available for purchase at $20 each on UBUNATION, with only 9,990 editions remaining at the time of writing.
Heissam Hartmann, founder of UBUNATION, underscored the significance of the campaign, stating, “Through this campaign, we are not just creating a collectible; we are building dreams and paving the way for a brighter future for the children of Nairobi. This is a testament to what we can achieve when technology meets compassion and collective action.”
This venture isn’t the first to leverage NFTs for philanthropic or noteworthy causes. Recently, Rarible and Celo Foundation collaborated to introduce Celosphere, an NFT marketplace focusing on environmentally impactful projects. Another example involves FC Barcelona and Plastiks teaming up to launch an NFT collection featuring various animals, with each purchase contributing to the removal of 35 million kilograms of plastic from the planet.
