One of Japan’s leading banks, SMBC Group, announced a partnership with blockchain startup HashPort to explore non-fungible token (NFT) and Web3 initiatives.
As a result of the partnership, they specifically created formed a token business lab that integrates both parties’ financial and creative technological expertise. They will carry out research, study, and demonstration experiments to promote new technology and to issue NFTs.
Both organizations will offer commercialization support and guidance to customers who are considering launching a company in the Web3 space.
In the future, as the Web3 age spreads, the SMBC Group will also launch its own token and strengthen services such as digital custody.
