Luxury fashion house Gucci has introduced a new metaverse experience titled “Gucci Cosmos Land.”
The experience, hosted on The Sandbox metaverse platform, delves into the world of Gucci’s timeless creations, tracing its historical roots.
Gucci Cosmos Land is a virtual representation of the physical Gucci Cosmos exhibit currently open in London. This nod to London holds significance as it pays homage to Guccio Gucci, who found inspiration for his iconic luggage designs while working as a porter at London’s Savoy Hotel.
Within the virtual space, each section tells a unique chapter of the Gucci story — spanning from its founding in 1921 to its ongoing evolution and creative inspirations.
The Gucci Cosmos Land metaverse experience is already open to the public and will continue to be accessible until November 22.
This unveiling follows Gucci’s previous foray into the metaverse with “Gucci Ancora” in September, offering a virtual replica of the Milan Fashion Week show’s physical location in the creative Brera district, showcasing the latest collection.
Beyond its metaverse endeavors, Gucci has also been actively involved in the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In July, Gucci announced its intention to reward Vault Material NFT holders with exclusive physical rewards.
In April, the brand also introduced its inaugural product collaboration with Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse project: the KodaPendant, available both as a digital NFT and a physical item.
