NFTs are now used across all industries. With the announcement of the first NFT restaurant opening in New York, NFTs are now invading the food sector.
Restaurant Flyfish Club (FFC), the first NFT restaurant in the world, comes from VCR Group, which is headed by Belarusian-American entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk.
According to the company’s website, customers will need to purchase a membership using cryptocurrency to dine at the restaurant.
Currently, there are two types of membership; Flyfish (FF) and Flyfish Omakase (FFO). The starting membership rate is 2.5 Ethereum, or around $8,200 at the time of publication – while all food will be paid for in dollars.
As an NFT, the membership becomes an asset to the token holder, which can later be sold, transferred or leased to others on the secondary market
Additionally, the restaurant will include a cocktail lounge, an upscale seafood restaurant, an omakase room (reserved for top-tier members only), and outdoor space measuring more than 10,000 square feet “in an iconic New York City location,” although the exact location has not yet been revealed.
Flyfish Club is slated to open — at a real-world location — sometime in the first half of 2023.
