In a bold move to expand its presence in the Web3 space, Etihad Airways has unveiled its newest venture – the launch of its second non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
The latest drop, called “Mission: Impossible Livery,” comprises 300 digital collectibles that offer exclusive benefits to their holders.
Each NFT pays tribute to the custom Mission: Impossible livery revealed on an Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Midfield Terminal. Actor Tom Cruise was present for the unveiling, highlighting Etihad’s role as the official airline partner of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning.
The perks for NFT holders include a 2-month Etihad Silver Tier promotion, entailing priority check-in, 25% extra Etihad Guest Miles, and access to the Abu Dhabi International lounge. Additionally, they gain membership to the Etihad: Virtual Club, receiving 10% extra miles, a fast-track promotion from Silver to Gold Tier for 6 months, and a personalized Etihad membership card for online and app usage.
In collaboration with Web3 company Arcube, Etihad is also introducing the Etihad “Horizon Club,” a staking-for-miles program and dedicated platform. This program allows NFT holders to lock up their NFTs and earn Etihad Guest miles, which can be redeemed for flights, upgrades, and other rewards.
The new Etihad NFT collection goes on public sale on August 1st at 3 pm UTC on a dedicated website, with each NFT priced at $350.
This initiative follows Etihad Airways’ first NFT collection, “EY-ZERO1,” launched in 2022. The collection featured ten highly detailed 3D aircraft models, each representing a distinct Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner livery.
