Former US president Donald Trump has announced the release of a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection, building on the success of his recent sales.
Trump personally made the announcement in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), introducing the “Mugshot” collection comprising 47 digital trading cards. This collection introduces a new element — an accompanying physical card.
Those who buy all 47 digital cards will be eligible to receive a physical card featuring a fragment of the suit Trump wore on August 24, 2024, during his formal arrest in Fulton County, Georgia. This suit holds historical significance, as it was the attire Trump wore when he underwent processing at an Atlanta jail, captured in a popular mug shot that portrays the former president with a stern expression.
Buyers of the complete set will also be eligible for a dinner meeting with Trump at his home in Palm Beach, Florida.
Priced at $99 each, the cards are already available for purchase through Trump’s official NFT platform.
This latest release marks another step in Trump’s NFT venture, which began in December 2022 with the launch of his first set of NFT trading cards showcasing him in various scenarios. In April, the former president quickly sold out the second series of his trading NFT card collection shortly after its release.
Trump’s entry into the NFT space follows in the footsteps of his wife, Melania Trump, who has been actively engaged in NFT initiatives since 2021. Melania’s first NFT release featured a watercolor painting titled “Melania’s Vision,” created by artist Marc-Antoine Coulon, depicting her cobalt blue eyes.
