Leading metaverse platform Decentraland is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated annual festival, the “Decentraland Music Festival ’23,” celebrating the blend of music and art within the virtual world.
Embracing the theme of “Rebirth & Regeneration,” this year’s festival is poised to delve deeper into the metaverse’s potential, embracing core values such as self-expression, communal growth, and artistic renewal.
Scheduled to run throughout the month of November, the festival will feature a lineup of live music performances and events, with the main event set to happen from November 16 to 18.
For the event, Decentraland is extending an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents, granting them visibility, and the chance to perform within the metaverse and win rewards.
Selected musicians, groups, and sound artists will receive a prize of $500, along with prominent exposure in the main event program.
Meanwhile, artists are encouraged to craft 3D installations, interactive games, or experiential works, with the promise of a $1000 cash prize, as well as a digital exhibition space within the main event plaza.
Aspiring participants have until September 30 to submit their entries, with the announcement of winners scheduled for October 6.
Over the past three years, the Decentraland Music Festival has hosted nearly 300 international artists, solidifying its role as a platform that fosters community growth and empowers artists while exploring the limitless possibilities offered by the metaverse.
In a similar vein, Decentraland unveiled its Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) in March, which successfully drew the engagement of over 25,000 unique active users, underscoring the metaverse’s growing influence in the world of fashion and entertainment.
