Crocs, the renowned footwear brand, has taken another significant stride into the realm of Web3 with the launch of a virtual store within the metaverse.
In a collaborative venture with Obsess, a 3D virtual store developer, Crocs has introduced the “Crocs Jibbitz Experience,” where fans can embark on a virtual journey to explore an array of shoes and Jibbitz — the Crocs charms that add a personal touch to Crocs footwear.
Within the virtual store, the Jibbitz charms are organized into various sections, including animals, letters, symbols, food, and more.
The experience also offers users access to the 3D Jibbitz Customizer, empowering them to fashion their own unique pair of Crocs adorned with Jibbitz charms, which can then be purchased directly from the virtual store.
The allure of the “Crocs Jibbitz Experience” extends beyond mere retail, encompassing an entertaining gamified element. Visitors can engage in an exhilarating arcade-style claw machine game, enabling them to collect virtual Jibbitz and even win physical ones.
This venture marks Crocs’ third foray into the metaverse, accomplished in collaboration with Obsess. The company initially signaled its ambitions to enter the Web3 world in 2022 when it announced plans to explore the NFT market, filing a trademark application to secure NFT-based intellectual property rights.
In September 2022, Crocs launched its initial metaverse effort, developed in partnership with the sports app Gen.G, featuring a virtual array of clothing as well as the iconic Crocs shoes and sandals.
