Investment banking company Credit Suisse has announced a partnership with the Swiss Football Association to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in support of women in football, according to an official statement.
The NFT collection comprises a total of 756 digital portraits featuring members of the Swiss Women’s National Team. These NFTs will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain and will be made available for purchase in three different packages, each with its own rarity level: unique, rare, and limited.
The prices range from approximately $170 to $11,000. Additionally, each package will offer exclusive benefits, including a physical portrait counterpart, an opportunity to meet and greet the players, and a signed jersey.
The collection will be available for purchase from July 11, 2023, until August 31, 2023, exclusively on CSX, Credit Suisse’s digital banking application.
The proceeds from the sale of these NFTs will go to the players of the women’s national team, as well as to selected projects that nurture young talent in girls’ football.
Credit Suisse’s initiative follows a trend of organizations using NFTs to support women in the realm of sports. Just last month, FC Barcelona revealed a new NFT release featuring the esteemed Spanish football star Alexia Putellas.
In June 2022, Oregon’s Division Street collaborated with Sedona Prince and 11 other University of Oregon women athletes to launch the Visions of Flight NFT collection, aimed at supporting women student-athletes in Oregon.
