Crypto exchange giant Binance has officially introduced “Bixel,” its artificial intelligence-powered generator for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
This innovative tool empowers Binance users to create unique NFT artworks by submitting prompts or uploading images, which can then be minted on the BNB Smart Chain.
With “Bixel” now available to the public, Binance users can generate and mint NFTs after completing a simple identity verification process (KYC) and paying a nominal minting fee of 0.008 BNB.
Prior to this public release, “Bixel” underwent two successful beta tests. The first test, under the name “Bicasso,” took place on March 1 and was initially made accessible to European users. Within a remarkably short span of 2.5 hours, the test reached its maximum capacity of 10,000 NFTs, underscoring the immense demand for AI-generated NFT artworks.
The second beta test commenced on March 29, 2023, extending availability to all Binance users worldwide for a limited 12-hour window. However, access to the test was granted on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing only 100,000 users to participate.
Notably, the name change from “Bicasso” to “Bixel” came amid allegations from the winner of a BNB Chain hackathon, claiming that “Bicasso” was a rip-off of a tool developed by Chatcasso, shortly after they received the top prize at the hackathon. In response, a Binance spokesperson denied all accusations, asserting that “Bicasso” had been independently developed two weeks before the hackathon event.
