Chiru Labs, the creative force behind the renowned non-fungible token (NFT) collection Azuki, is expanding its horizons into the tangible realm with the introduction of physical merchandise inspired by the Beanz collection.
In an X (Twitter) thread posted on January 5, Chiru Labs revealed the collaboration with IPX, the intellectual property company and holding entity for the popular character collection LINE Friends.
The physical items in this release comprise a “Brown x Beanz” hooded figurine, priced at $90 each, a black tumbler at $27 each, and a “Kay & Jelly” keyring available at $14 each.
Scheduled for release on January 11, the collection will be available on the LINE Friends Collection website, which also features various products from LINE Friends collections, including BT21 and NEWJEANS.
This move follows Chiru Labs and IPX’s initial collaboration announcement in April 2023, suggesting a potential expansion of Beanz NFTs beyond the digital space.
Notably, this mirrors a growing trend among NFT projects seeking to enhance fan experiences by expanding into the physical realm. In November 2023, Axie Infinity launched an official merchandise store with character-themed items, offering exclusive privileges to NFT holders and contributing a portion of profits to the community treasury.
Similarly, in September 2023, Pudgy Penguins NFT characters turned into physical toys, debuting in 2,000 Walmart stores across the United States.
