Axie Infinity, the popular non-fungible token (NFT)-based online video game, has officially unveiled its merchandise store.
The store features various items, including plush toys, objects, and physical apparel featuring Axie Infinity characters. Some physical items will include accompanying NFTs, like The Mystic Figurine, which comes with an exclusive land item NFT.
Holders of Mystic and Origin Axie NFTs can produce and sell merchandise, as well as create cafes, comics, restaurants, and toys featuring these Axies.
While the store is open to all users, specific merchandise is exclusively available to certain users, such as Mystic Axie NFT holders. To access these items, users must connect their wallet to verify ownership of the required digital asset.
The store facilitates international shipping to most countries, except for a few. Payment options include crypto, card, or PayPal.
Notably, 20% of the net profit from the merchandise store will contribute to the Axie Community Treasury, emphasizing the community-owned nature of the business.
Axie Infinity, launched in 2018 on the Ronin Network, an Ethereum-linked sidechain developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis, pioneered play-to-earn games and rapidly gained popularity. In August 2022, it boasted over 2.7 million daily active users, reaching its peak in 2021 with over 2.8 million daily active users.
The NFT gaming market is experiencing significant growth, with the global NFT gaming market projected to increase from $410.92 billion in 2023 to $820.78 billion by 2028, at a CAGR of 14.84% during the forecast period.
