Animoca Brands has expanded its Web3-related partnership lineup by collaborating with iCandy Interactive Limited, the creator of the recently launched non-fungible token (NFT) game, Snaky Cat.
Snaky Cat, a time-based game, shares similarities with traditional snake games. As the timer counts down, players guide a cat with a snake-like body to consume food, gradually increasing its length. The challenge is to prevent the cat from colliding with obstacles and other players as it grows longer.
What sets Snaky Cat apart from the snake traditional game is its integration of blockchain technology, enabling players to engage in a play-to-earn (P2E) model. The game operates on Base, a Layer 2 solution powered by the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
To participate in the game, players need to link their wallets, providing them with the chance to earn TOWER tokens, the governance and utility tokens for the TOWER ecosystem. This ecosystem includes games like Crazy Kings, Crazy Defense Heroes, Chaos Kingdom, and now, Snaky Cat.
This collaboration reflects Animoca Brands’ continued efforts in the Web3 gaming industry, a sector projected to surpass $133,228.2 million by 2033.
Recently, Animoca Brands’ subsidiary, Darewise Entertainment, partnered with Honda to introduce NFT-powered transportation elements in its sci-fi gaming metaverse, Life Beyond. Additionally, in October 2023, Animoca Brands acquired Azarus, a Web3 gaming platform, further solidifying its position in the industry.
