American gridiron football quarterback Tom Brady has filed a trademark application for his signature, signaling his plans to expand his brand into the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The trademark application indicates that Tom Brady aims to provide NFTs and “downloadable virtual goods, namely, computer programs for the creation and trade of digital collectibles using blockchain-based software and smart contracts.”
The news was shared earlier today via Twitter by Michael Kondoudis, a Washington-based trademark lawyer who tracks Metaverse and NFT trademark filings.

Tom Brady is not the only sports professional who declared his intention to enter the metaverse.
Previously, basketball players LeBron James and LaMelo Ball also filed trademark applications to enter the metaverse and provide NFTs.
So, it is only a matter of time before other sports professionals join this exciting and innovative virtual world.
