Renowned American photographer and film director, David Christopher Lee, is making his foray into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with a unique offering of digital collectibles featuring celebrity portraits.
Lee has chosen the newly launched NFT marketplace, Illuminate.art, as the platform to unveil his first collection of NFT portraits. Among the initial releases are portraits of music icons Lady Gaga and Snoop Dog.
The portrait of Lady Gaga captures a significant moment from one of her early photoshoots in Los Angeles back in 2008. Meanwhile, the stunning depiction of Snoop Dog was captured through a collaborative photoshoot with Lee.
Presented under the title “The Illuminate Collection,” these NFTs represent just the beginning of Lee’s venture into the digital art realm. In the months ahead, he plans to expand the collection by adding NFT portraits of other notable celebrities.
Enthusiasts and fans can already buy the NFT portraits of Lady Gaga and Snoop Dog for $50 each. Additionally, the collection features a unique self-portrait of David Christopher Lee himself, priced at $5,000, which grants the buyer an opportunity for an exclusive photoshoot session with the esteemed photographer.
Throughout the month of June, four digital collectibles featuring portraits of different celebrities will be closely tied to access four distinct portraiture classes, taught personally by David Christopher Lee.
Moreover, those fortunate enough to collect all four celebrity portraits will receive an exclusive invitation to a glamorous red-carpet event in Hollywood, thanks to a collaboration with renowned Hollywood Film and Television Producer and Actress, Darcy Donavan.
This release adds to the growing trend of converting celebrity photographs into NFTs. In October 2022, renowned photographer Richard C. Miller’s rare photographs of Marilyn Monroe were transformed into NFTs and sold on the NFT marketplace Phto.
