Wawa has finally announced its non-fungible token (NFT) initiative after filing a trademark application for the metaverse and NFT spaces last March.
The effort involves the launch of Wawa’s brand-new 2022 Hoagiefest sweepstakes, which will give consumers the opportunity to win one-of-a-kind digital collector artwork NFTs and exclusive Hoagiefest apparel.
The Wawa Hoagiefest NFT collection is based on the designs and visual elements of past and present Hoagiefest commercial illustrations.
Using these illustrations, 5,000+ uniquely collectible Hoagiefest NFTs were created, including 12 rare, animated NFTs and 5,000 generative NFTs that feature a variety of characters, backgrounds, hoagies, and accessories.
The Wawa Hoagiefest NFT sweepstakes initiative is available from July 8-24. Participants can enter by visiting www.wawa.com/hoagiefest-nft-giveaway and providing their contact info.
Wawa will create and giveaway 5,000 NFTs as well as real-world prizes and surprises.
Winners will receive a combination of NFT and real-world prizes as follows:
- 11 prize winners will receive one (1) rare, animated Wawa NFT inspired by past or present Hoagiefest campaigns, a personalized t-shirt that matches their NFT artwork, and a Hoagiefest social swag pack.
- 1 prize winner will receive one (1) rare, animated Wawa NFT inspired by past or present Hoagiefest campaigns cobranded with Reese’s, a personalized t-shirt that matches their NFT artwork, a Hoagiefest social swag pack, and a Reese’s swag pack.
- 50 prize winners will receive one (1) generative NFT, NFT t-shirt, and a Hoagiefest social swag pack.
- 3,950 prize winners will receive one (1) generative NFT.
