Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced a multi-year collaboration with LGND and Polygon to launch LGND Music, a music-focused NFT platform.
The platform, which is set to launch in January 2023, would enable music fans to purchase, listen to, and trade music NFTs and Virtual Vinyl.
Artists, publishers, labels, producers, and anyone involved in creating music can drop their music on the platform for free, earning extra income and building a fan base in the process.
The LGND Music platform will use the Polygon blockchain, an eco-friendly Proof-Of-Stake blockchain.
Although WMG and LGND did not mention any specific artist collaboration, among the future drops, the platform will offer “50 Years of Hip-Hop,” an initiative dedicated to celebrating hip-hop’s origins throughout the year, with exclusive drops and artist moments.
So far, Warner Music Group has been quite active in the Web3 space. Some of its most recent initiatives include a partnership with POAP to release NFTs to commemorate special occasions and a partnership with major NFT marketplace OpenSea to strengthen its Web3 efforts.
