The popular Turkish TV series “Magnificent Century” has made its entrance into the metaverse, marking a significant milestone for the global entertainment industry.
In an effort to offer fans a more immersive and interactive experience, the series has partnered with The Sandbox metaverse for a virtual initiative.
Named after the show itself, the virtual experience titled “Magnificent Century” allows players to craft their own unique adventures within a digital realm. By transforming beloved characters into avatars and providing virtual immersive worlds, fans will be able to delve deeper into the series.
The official announcement of this groundbreaking partnership took place on July 12 during a momentous event, where representatives from TIMS Productions (the production company behind “Magnificent Century”), Hungri Games, and UGC90 joined forces. The event commenced with a workshop centered around the TV series, followed by a panel discussion on seamlessly integrating world-renowned shows into The Sandbox Metaverse.
“Magnificent Century,” produced by the visionary Timur Savcı, has captivated audiences in over 140 countries, boasting an astounding viewership of over 500 million worldwide. While this collaboration marks a significant achievement for the series, it is not the first global production to embrace Web3 technology.
Earlier this year, in a similar move, BBC Studios partnered with Web3 studio Reality+ to bring some of its iconic brands such as Doctor Who and Top Gear into the virtual world, providing fans with digital experiences. Additionally, in July 2022, Netflix joined forces with Candy Digital to create and release a collection of Stranger Things non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
