Renowned Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow has garnered substantial success with his recent foray into the non-fungible token (NFT) market. Within just a week of its launch, Chow’s NFT collection, titled “Nobody,” has generated over $25 million in trading volume.
The collection, built on the Ethereum blockchain, comprises 10,000 NFTs, each featuring distinct cartoonish characters with unique stories, outfits, hobbies, and personalities.
According to OpenSea analytics, the collection’s trading volume currently stands at 10,477 ETH, which amounts to $25,358,740, with a floor price of 0.628 ETH or $1,520.
“Nobody” NFT holders not only own the digital asset but also have the opportunity to actively contribute to the project’s growth. They gain access to exclusive features, allowing them to vote, create, and co-create secondary characters within the collection.
Throughout the year 2024, as outlined on the official website, the “Nobody” project will center its efforts on offering resources and opportunities for the community to actively participate in the creation of films and short videos. This includes collaboratively crafting movie clips for Chow’s “The Mermaid 2” and “Shaolin Women’s Soccer,” as well as participating in casting for upcoming projects.
Chow is already actively brainstorming events for the Nobody community. In a recent X (Twitter) post, the filmmaker sought suggestions for upcoming community events.
The inception of the “Nobody” collection dates back to December 2023, when Chow collaborated with Chinese-American rapper MC Jin to explore the NFT space.
On January 10, Chow, in partnership with crypto exchange OKX, launched a Nobody NFT whitelist giveaway, attracting over 125,000 participants and airdropping 2,500 NFTs.
