SK Telecom (SKT), a leading wireless telecommunications provider in South Korea, has announced the global extension of its “ifland” metaverse project.
ifland’s growth would make the platform available globally, with language options, improved communication capabilities, and strong international partnerships.
More specifically, the overseas partners will aid in creating tailored features based on regional preferences. The collaboration would also help in the promotion of metaverse-related events and the distribution of local content.
These features will supplement the advanced ones that are already available. Among these are ‘one-on-one direct messaging’ and a ‘3D speech bubble’ to facilitate communication in ifland.
SKT also implemented the ‘Live voting’ and ‘ifme motion sharing’ features to review feedback from visitors in real time and provide avatars with realistic facial expressions.
Every week, ifland will celebrate its global growth with a broad selection of live K-pop content, including auditions for K-pop trainees and the nurturing of K-pop stars for global fans.
With the slogan “The New Way of Socializing,” ifland aspires to be the world’s leading social metaverse platform. Since its inception, ifland has achieved 12.8 million total users as of October 2022, representing a four-fold rise from 3 million earlier this year.
