Multinational e-commerce company Shopify has partnered with thirdweb for the launch of “CommerceKit,” an all-in-one platform for developers to build Web3-enabled e-commerce apps.
CommerceKit comes with a library of pre-built and customizable smart contracts — for some of the most common purposes (such as NFT airdrops for loyal customers) — Blockchain SDKs, multi-chain compatibility, UI components, and dashboards to manage and analyze all deployed contracts.
As a result, developers and merchants will be able to simply activate and integrate on-chain loyalty programs, sell NFTs via their online stores, and use on-chain data for more customized shopping experiences.
From the customer’s perspective, this implies quicker Web3-related purchases, more payment options, and a greater seamless connection with their wallets.
thirdweb’s website states that CommerceKit’s functionality may soon grow, including analytics for smart contract activity and compatibility for all types of wallets.
Shopify has always been pro-Web3; in fact, since mid-2021, the e-commerce company has been enabling merchants to sell NFTs directly through their online shops.
Many apps have debuted on the Shopify App Store since then. This is the case with the VIVID NFT App, which allows merchants to mint, sell, and manage multimedia NFTs on their Shopify shops, and the BCware NFT App, which allows Shopify Plus merchants to bundle NFTs with real-world products.
