Santander, the major Spanish international financial services company, has announced plans to hold an awards ceremony for its Santander X Global Challenge | Blockchain on July 14 in the Decentraland metaverse.
The initiative aimed to find startups and scale-ups with innovative and scalable blockchain solutions and award them financial prizes.
The competition was organized in collaboration with the Oxentia Foundation. It received 400 submissions, which were narrowed down to 20: 10 startups and ten scale-ups. The projects covered a wide range of topics, including blockchain network privacy and security, DeFi and tokenization, and web3 and the metaverse.
The winners, who will be announced in the metaverse, will become members of Santander X 100, a global community of Santander X’s most outstanding entrepreneurial projects, which provides them with the resources they need to grow, including advice and training, capital, customers, talent, networking opportunities, and other valuable resources.
The six winning solutions will be promoted on the social media and official channels of Banco Santander.
Finalists will get the opportunity to pitch their ideas to Fintech Station, Banco Santander’s open innovation team.
