The “Coffin Dance” meme, one of the most popular in recent years and shared by former US President Donald Trump, will be auctioned off as an NFT to support Ukraine.
The famous “Coffin Dance” meme, also dubbed as Dancing Pallbearers or Dancing Coffin, a viral meme that shows Ghanian pallbearers dancing while carrying a coffin, is being auctioned as an NFT today on the Foundation platform.
Previously, the Foundation platform has already held auctions for other popular Internet memes. Nyan Cat was sold for 300 ETH on February 19, 2021, DisasterGirl was sold for 180 ETH on April 18, 2021, and Attached Girlfriend was sold for 200 ETH on April 4, 2021.
“This battle is not only for Ukraine, but the whole of free Europe. If Ukraine does not hold out, the world may be on the verge of a third world war,” Benjamin Aidoo said in a video, which showed the other Ghanian pallbearers sitting next to him.
Those interested in purchasing an NFT with the iconic image may be certain that they are the official owner of the meme, which will be released in a single copy. This status also enables limitless royalty-free commercial use of the photo and its parts, as well as the usage of the Dancing Pallbearers visual image for merch manufacturing in any country across the world.
The group stated that 25% of the proceeds from the meme’s sale will be donated to the Ukrainian charitable organization “Come Back Alive” in order to help the Ukrainian army and its people.
