.SWOOSH, Nike’s metaverse fashion lab, has unveiled its first challenge for aspiring designers.
In addition to the chance to win $5,000, participants will also be given an opportunity to see their concepts transformed into a virtual reality creation on .SWOOSH.
Additionally, the design they submit might become part of the lab’s Our Force 1 collection and earn them royalties.
As part of the challenge, designers are asked to create an Instagram mood board that tells their stories. This mood board should include eight images that meet the following criteria: the story; the mood; three key themes; color palette; man-made or natural; something tactile; something unexpected; a place/scene or location.
The deadline for submissions is January 29, 9 AM PT.
Following that, the .SWOOSH team will select four concepts that stand out. Winners will partner with a Nike designer to create their own virtual Air Force 1 and receive the cash prize.
Launched last November, .SWOOSH is a Polygon-based metaverse lab that will house all of Nike’s virtual fashion creations. The lab will also serve as a social hub where communities can join and collaborate to create and discover virtual collections and trade virtual items.
