Game development company Mystic Moose has unveiled a new collaboration with toy manufacturer WowWee, marking the launch of physical toys based on the characters from its NFT gaming universe, Planet Mojo.
These toys will showcase characters from Mojo Melee, the flagship NFT game within the Planet Mojo universe. The central characters include the “Mojos,” small trolls and plant-based creatures described as the “magical defenders of Planet Mojo,” as well as the “Champions,” representing various clans within the gaming universe.
Each physical toy will be accompanied by a QR code, granting owners the option to mint them as NFTs.
“These initiatives reflect our commitment to innovation, community engagement, and expanding the reach of the Planet Mojo universe. We can’t wait for our players and fans to experience everything we have in store.”
Mike Levine, CEO & Founder of Planet Mojo
Planet Mojo — built on the Polygon blockchain and governed by the $MOJO token — was founded in 2021 by industry veterans from leading companies like LucasArts, EA, and Activision. The project has garnered support from investors such as Animoca Brands, Merit Circle, and other prominent funds.
In addition to this collaboration, in August 2023, the studio joined forces with Amazon Prime Gaming, offering exclusive benefits, including NFTs, to Prime members engaging with Mojo Melee.
This move highlights a growing trend of projects expanding beyond the confines of the Web3 space. Notably, in September 2023, the NFT collection Pudgy Penguins ventured into the physical realm with toys featuring its beloved characters, which became available in 2,000 Walmart stores. Following their success, the collection expanded its presence, reaching an additional 1,100 Walmart stores this year.
Further breaking ground, in January 2024, Chiru Labs, creators of Azuki NFTs, collaborated with IPX to introduce a physical collection inspired by Beanz NFTs.
