World of Women (WoW) has partnered with WS Game, the intellectual property holder for Monopoly, to launch a special edition of the classic board game infused with non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Named “Monopoly: WoW Galaxy,” the new edition takes a futuristic spin and draws inspiration from WoW’s second NFT collection — a series of artworks that portray women exploring a new world while approaching the future.
The Monopoly WoW edition is set to be released in both digital and physical formats, with the latter being available in a limited quantity.
The game’s core concept revolves around eight imaginative planets, each with its own theme — including Mother Earth, Night Realm, and Cyber Jungle. Each planet is connected to NFT characters from the World of Women’s collection.
The game — both in its digital and physical versions — will include seven golden player tokens. Two of these tokens are inspired by World of Women collections, while the rest are drawn from some of the most popular NFT collections in the space — including Cool Cats, CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), RTFKT, and VeeFriends.
In the digital version of the game, players will use their token-based characters to embark on a futuristic journey, forging alliances across the various planets. The game is powered by the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain, and players will earn ETH rewards — when they pass “Go,” for instance.
This new Monopoly edition was designed by the artistic team of World of Women, led by co-founder and creative director Yam Karkai.
The “Monopoly: World of Women Galaxy” edition is set to be released and available for purchase beginning Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Delivery for the physical version is expected to begin in December.
Founded in 2021, World of Women represents a global community that empowers women and celebrates their representation, inclusivity, and diversity on a global scale. The community is built around a unique collection of 10,000 NFTs, each featuring a unique combination of 11 traits from a pool of 189 possible traits.
