Team Liquid, a prominent global professional esports organization, has partnered with the non-fungible token (NFT) game Illuvium to collaborate on the upcoming PvP auto-battler game, Illuvium Arena.
Drawing from its 23-year experience, Team Liquid will contribute its expertise and advisory knowledge to evaluate and guide the Illuvium team on the NFT game.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Victor Goossens, co-CEO of Team Liquid, disclosed that the team would also provide guidance on the future strategy plan for Illuvium, including the coordination of game tournaments scheduled for 2024.
As part of the collaboration, the game will also introduce Team Liquid-themed Illuvium NFT items, featuring character skins and avatars.
The announcement of this collaboration coincided with Illuvium’s launch on the Epic Games Store.
Using the Ethereum blockchain, the Illuvium game aspires to be the world’s first Interoperable Blockchain Game (IBG) universe, encompassing an open-world exploration game, industrial city builder, and autobattler.
The Illuvium ecosystem currently comprises three games — Overworld, Zero, and Arena — and a marketplace where players can acquire collectibles and art pieces based on the game’s characters.
In terms of Team Liquid, the company secured $35 million in funding last year at a $415 million valuation. It boasts a portfolio of over 120 games, including titles such as Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and more.
