Fashion house Maison Margiela, in collaboration with digital fashion platform The Fabricant, has started the public sale of its highly anticipated MetaTABI non-fungible token (NFT) boots.
Following the presale on April 16, the digital versions of its iconic Tabi boots are now accessible to anyone. Offered in two versions — White and Black — the NFTs are priced at 2.5 ETH (approximately $7,700) and 0.185 ETH (around $560) respectively.
Buyers of the White version will receive a limited edition pair of handmade Tabi Boots in brown suede with hand-crafted gold foil splashes, while purchasers of the Black MetaTABI NFT version will gain access to a black leather wallet customized with the holder’s engraved crypto wallet number.
Both NFT versions grant holders the opportunity to wear and use the digital boots in hundreds of games within Ready Player Me and The Sandbox.
Before making a purchase, users have the option to scan a QR code and visualize the digital boots within their physical environment leveraging augmented reality technology.
This initiative follows Maison Margiela’s earlier foray into the NFT space when, in October 2023, it unveiled an innovative NFT game based on its iconic label numbering system.
