“We are experiencing a revolution right now,” says Eleonore Cavalli, Art Director of the Italian furniture brand Visionnaire. “Technology has provided us with a sense of freedom that wasn’t possible before. There’s a whole new space for creativity to prosper,” she adds.
Known for staying ahead of the curve, the Milanese tastemaker is taking Visionnaire’s latest project, Apollo Belvedere, to the NFT market–one of the first-ever from a luxury furniture brand.
The Apollo Belvedere pays homage to the divine Greek archer Apollo, the symbol of aesthetic perfection. Sculpted in life-size Carrara marble, the bust is inspired by capitonnè leather and will be auctioned along with an NFT as part of the 60th Salone del Mobile in Milan.
The company selected Jonathan Monaghan, a well-known modern visual artist who uses computer animation software to create his work, for the artwork as he approaches beauty in an unusual way.
“Along with unveiling the sculpture and its NFT, we are also developing an interesting communication project that serves as an educational tool, organizing talks or round tables for small groups of collectors and enthusiasts, involving experts from the world of art and digital art,” said Eleonore Cavalli in an interview with AD India.
