British shoe retail company Clarks is once again stepping into the metaverse with a music-focused project, dubbed “Beyond Worlds.”
The initiative is in partnership with Empire Music, which aims to bring Afrobeats artists to the virtual world, allowing music lovers to enjoy their songs from the comfort of their homes.
The concert, headlined by Nigerian singer Fireboy DML, will also feature Nissi and June Freedom, performing some of their most famous songs, as well as an exclusive, never-before-heard track.
As a key part of the “Beyond Worlds” initiative, Fireboy is featured donning the Clarks Originals Wallabee from the “Jacquard” collection, which combines vibrant 60s floral designs with classic craftsmanship. Although these shoes can be found in physical stores, they will also be reimagined and available as virtual items in the metaverse.
The 30-minute online event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 18th, at 6:30 pm on Fireboy DML’s YouTube channel.
Clarks already entered the metaverse back in March, when it introduced “Clarks Arcade” as part of this year’s Metaverse Fashion Week on Decentraland, where players could experience nostalgic carnival games and the chance to win unique wearables of the brand’s iconic silhouettes.
