Pininfarina, the world’s most renowned Italian automotive design firm and coachbuilder, with headquarters in Italy, has announced the launch of its first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
The collection is completely centered on, and shows, the original and unique “one-off” automobile sketches of the Modulo concept car, made in 1970, saved in Pininfarina’s secret archive and never revealed to the public, and contains five unique pieces of art, merging design, music, and technology.
In accordance with their respective decades, NFTs are called Modulo 70, 80, 90, 00, and 10.
NFT holders will receive a uniquely designed digital booklet of rare, previously unseen sketches (also accessible as single photos) as well as two limited-edition physical reproductions of the artwork autographed by Pininfarina’s Chairman, Mr. Paolo Pininfarina.
The buyer will also get access to VIP live experiences such as a private tour of the Pininfarina Museum, a one-on-one meeting with the automobile design team, and the immersive experience “Pininfarina Virtual Lab.”
Unique digital replicas (GLB files) of the Pininfarina Modulo—the very first Pininfarina automobile suited for life in the Metaverse—will also be available to holders.
This exciting project has been developed in collaboration with 1of1—the luxury NFT specialists, powered by ARTM Technologies, and created with the world-famous artist, Sasha Sirota.
The NFT project will be auctioned as a series of five pieces of art by RM Sotheby’s within a dedicated online auction on 24-26 May, 2022.
“We are proud that our first NFT Collection is dedicated to giving a new life to the Modulo. The concept car designed in 1970 is a manifesto of Pininfarina vision: beauty and innovation to design the future,” said Chairman Paolo Pininfarina.
“We enter the NFT world with the intention of exploring its boundaries and opportunities. The metaverse is an area we can make a significant contribution to by having been producers of cutting-edge creativity for 90 years. Our immense creative archive, the ability to imagine the future of design using the most advanced technologies open up new avenues for the further economic enhancement of our brand,” commented Silvio Angori, Pininfarina CEO.
