In a similar move to Spiderman’s free NFTs, AMC, the largest movie theater chain in the world, will provide free NFTs to members of Investor Connect, its rewards program, as well as to those who purchase stock before the end of the year.
The release was announced by AMC’s CEO Adam Aron on Twitter.
Just look at our new #IownAMCnft It glimmers. It moves. And it’s yours, free. For U.S. and for international AMC shareholders who are currently or newly enrolled by 12/31/21 in AMC Investor Connect. Free to enroll https://t.co/b5l62D7Wuy pic.twitter.com/bs6UgxQhtf

The U.S. and international investors can take advantage of the opportunity, including shareholders from the UK and continental Europe.
It is our intent that international AMC shareholders can get the new #IownAMCnft. Including you in Canada, the UK, continental Europe, the Middle East and other countries. As some are reporting difficulty doing so, I will ask my IT group to make it easier for you. Stay tuned.

Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX), a carbon-neutral blockchain that operates according to the Proof of Stake system, is the company’s partner behind the NFT release.
It is the second time AMC has collaborated with WAX, following the first time when Spiderman NFTs were released.
AMC began embracing cryptocurrency in November by accepting major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, and pre-announced that it may also consider Shiba Inu and other meme cryptos, such as Dogecoin.
There is no doubt that its collaborations and followups imply a greater embracement of the crypto and metaverse worlds.
“Most people think about an NFT as something that holds a media file … NFTs are much broader, they are actually mini-computers,” WAX’s CEO said. “We’re beginning to see a lot more NFTs used this way.”
Quigley added the AMC project hints at a broader role for NFTs in the future.
