Warner Bros Home Entertainment is diving into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through a new initiative. This time, the renowned production company has introduced NFT-based bundles featuring the classic film “Superman: The Movie” from 1978.
In collaboration with Eluvio, the world’s pioneering blockchain-backed 4K video streaming and ticketing service, Warner Bros has launched “The Superman Web3 Movie Experience.” It represents a multimedia NFT that will allow fans to engage with the film in exciting ways, such as accessing special features, exploring image galleries, and enjoying artist renderings created by renowned DC artists.
The Superman Web3 Movie Experience will be available in two editions: standard and premium. The standard edition is priced at $30 and will be available for purchase for one week. The premium edition, on the other hand, costs $100 and will only be available for 24 hours. The premium edition includes three distinct variations: Truth, Justice, and Hope. Each variation features an illustration of Christopher Reeves’ Superman created by one of three talented DC artists: Ivan Reiss, Ben Oliver, or Bill Sienkiewicz.
Fans can get a sneak peek of The Superman Web3 Movie Experience on the preview page. The purchase option will officially open on June 9th at 8 AM ET.
Warner Bros has collaborated with Eluvio before, establishing a partnership in October 2022 to create NFTs for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Apart from that particular initiative, Warner Bros has actively embraced the Web3 realm and has undertaken previous ventures in this space. In June 2022, the company partnered with Nifty’s to transform the beloved Looney Tunes franchise into NFTs. Additionally, in December 2022, Warner Bros collaborated with Nifty’s and Daz 3D to introduce the Game of Thrones NFT collection.
