KEY POINTS
Tequila Don Julio has introduced five exclusive cask-finished expressions as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on BlockBar.
These five expressions — Bourbon, Ruby Port, Orange Wine, Madeira Wine, and Crémant — are being auctioned off on the platform. The winning bidders will secure one cask, yielding 40 cases, totaling 240 bottles of Don Julio 1942 (750ml each).
Each bottle will bear a unique number and feature imagery reflecting the essence of its respective cask finish.
Holders of these NFTs will also get access to an exclusive event at the brand’s private distillery in Mexico to commemorate this limited-edition launch.
Bidding for each cask starts at 9.20 ETH or $35,000. The auction is underway and will continue for the next 15 days until June 20th.
Bottling is scheduled to be completed before March 31, 2025. After the auction, buyers will have the option to resell or gift their cask NFTs on BlockBar until that date.
From April 1, 2025, each cask NFT will be divided into 40 NFTs, representing six 750ml bottles each. NFT holders will be eligible to claim the physical bottles starting from June 2025.
This release adds to BlockBar’s growing portfolio of notable NFT offerings.
Last month, the platform collaborated with Pernod Ricard for a limited Avión tequila release, connecting physical bottles with NFTs. Also, Château d’Esclans introduced Garrus rosé as an NFT, offering NFT holders the chance to redeem physical bottles and gain exclusive access to the vineyard.
